The SALAMANDER network is used to improve the monitoring of water collection for the most critical areas.
An agreement was signed between Meteo-France and the French Direction of Water within the Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development. This agreement gives Meteo-France the authority to manage rainfall stations.
The stations measure rainfall, and on some sites, the temperature. The remote stations use proven standards for the RADOME network, including the possibility of issuing alerts. The project includes the deployment of a hundred rainfall stations. The first stations will be set up in autumn 2006.
Météo trusted PULSONIC to equip the network with Pulsia stations.
